The first public week of Yiwarra Kuju has been filled with events, festivities and celebration. We have been joined by dozens of artists and project team members from Canning Stock Route Country in order to officially welcome Yiwarra Kuju back to Western Australia and to Perth for the first time.
An exciting array of activities and entertainment awaits at Yiwarra Kuju this weekend. Starting tomorrow and running through until Sunday Martumili Artists are holding a market stall in the foyer outside the exhibition at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. You will have the opportunity to purchase artworks directly from the art centre and even meet some of the artists.
Last week Yiwarra Kuju: the Canning Stock Route opened to international delegates and visitors as the cultural backdrop for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). Canning Stock Route Project team members travelled from the afar to escort delegates, media and CHOGM workers through the exhibition.
